Norway still lead the Junior
Championship with an increased lead of 9 VPs over France, with Italy
and Netherlands close behind. It was a day that belonged to The
Netherlands, who scored a maximum 75 VPs to move up from joint 13th
to joint 3rd in the rankings. It is early days in this competition
and I would not like to predict the eventual winners just yet. What
is certain is that there will be fierce competition for both the
title and the remaining places at next year’s World Championships in
Sydney, Australia.
In the Girls Championship, leaders Austria scored 67
VPs out of 75 on the day, one less than second-placed Poland
managed. Austria lead the Poles by 16 VPs while Sweden are a further
16 VPs back in third place. With only four rounds to go, the title
will surely go to one of the two leaders, while Netherlands and
possibly Italy and Czech Republic are the only other contenders for
a medal.
